Further information on Deutz power units
Basic equipment for Deutz emergency power generator
Emergency power generator: The complete emergency power generator as an emergency power supply system is mounted on a base frame made of welded steel angle profiles in a robust construction. Specially designed devices for lifting with a crane are attached to the base frame. The diesel engine and the generator are connected directly to each other via an SAE flange, so that even after prolonged operation there is no possibility of misalignment. The day tank is integrated into the base frame. The 12-volt starter battery is mounted on the base frame and wired ready for operation.
Engine: Original DEUTZ industrial diesel engine, 4-stroke direct injection, air-cooled, 1,500 rpm (50 Hz). Low oil and fuel consumption with long maintenance intervals make Deutz engines a very economical engine application for your emergency power supply.
Generator: Three-phase synchronous generator, brushless, self-regulating from 20 kVA with electronic voltage regulator (AVR) according to VDE 0530, 400/230 volts, 4-pole, insulation class H.
Switchgear: Manual start system with engine monitoring (Deep SEA DSE 3110) and shutdown in case of low oil pressure, overtemperature, overspeed, generator switch (3-pole) with thermal and magnetic release.
Equipment: Frequency meter, operating hours counter, voltmeter and ammeter, visual and audible alarm indicator in case of malfunction.
Accessories: A wide range of accessories is available as options for all our emergency power generators with Deutz engines, covering all requirements such as DIN 6280-13, VDE 0100 Part 710 & VDE 0100 Part 718, and VDS regulations. From high-performance silencers, soot filters, large tank systems, automatic fuel refilling systems, 1-axle or tandem chassis in accordance with StVZO, preheating systems, electronic engine control, oil collection trays in accordance with WHG/VAwS, emergency power automation for all areas of application, optional for mains synchronous operation or mains parallel operation, or as a peak load generator. Everything can be customized to customer requirements or local regulations.
Documentation: Complete description, clearly filed for the engine, generator, and the entire system.
Factory test: Every emergency power generator is tested before leaving the factory.
Regulations/quality standards: Our emergency power generators comply with the following standards: VDE 0530, BGVA3 (formerly VBG 4) DIN 6280, ISO 8528, BS 4999, BS 5000, and IEC 34.
Warranty: 12 months or 2,000 operating hours from notification of readiness for shipment.
Technical changes: We reserve the right to make technical changes.

Emergency power generator as backup power supply (Deutz engine)
Since its founding, Deutz AG has been a major manufacturer of internal combustion engines. It was founded in Cologne in 1864 under the name N. A. Otto & Cie. This became Gasmotoren-Fabrik Deutz AG in 1872. Further name changes followed in 1930 to Humboldt-Deutzmotoren AG, in 1938 to Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG (KHD), and finally in 1997 to Deutz AG.
