High performance, maximum availability and fast installation
As Volvo Penta has over 100 years of industrial experience and therefore manufactures high-quality products, it is one of the world’s best-known diesel engine manufacturers. An emergency genset with a Volvo Penta engine is particularly resilient and can start quickly. Thanks to a low oil quantity, high quality and reliability as well as simple installation, the highly efficient engines ensure low operating costs. Maintenance intervals can be limited to up to 1000 hours. Volvo Penta engines are extremely economical and flexible. They meet all the requirements of G3 according to ISO8528-5.
Basic equipment Volvo power generators
Power generator
The complete generating set is mounted on a base frame made of welded steel edge profiles in a robust construction. Specially designed devices for lifting with a crane are attached to the base frame. The diesel engine and the generator are directly connected to each other via an SAE flange, so that there is no possibility of misalignment even after prolonged operation. The day tank is integrated in the base frame. The 12 / 24 volt DC starter batteries are mounted on the base frame and wired to the diesel engine.
Engine
Volvo industrial diesel engine 4-stroke direct injection, water-cooled 1,500 rpm (50 Hz). Low oil-fuel consumption with long maintenance intervals makes series a very economical engine application.
Generator
Mecc Alte, Stamford or Leroy Somer three-phase synchronous generator, brushless, self-regulating with electronic voltage regulator (AVR) to VDE 0100 Part 0530, 400/230 volts, 4-pole, insulation to Class H.
Switchgear
Manual start/stop system mounted on the generator set with engine monitoring and shutdown in the event of low oil pressure, overtemperature, overspeed, 3-pole generator switch with thermal and magnetic release. Optionally with fully automatic emergency power switchgear
Equipment
Frequency meter, operating hours counter, voltmeter and ammeter, visual and acoustic alarm display in the event of a malfunction of the generator set.
Documentation
Complete description, clearly filed for the engine, alternator and the entire system.
Work test
Every generator is tested in the test bay before leaving the factory.
Quality standards
WA Notstromtechnik GmbH backup power generators comply with the CE mark and the following additional regulations:
- 2006/42/ EC | CE & EN ISO 13857: 2008 Machine safety.
